Where did God Come From

Not as complicated as you might think. Years ago, I was driving to work with my  son Joseph, who was maybe 7 years old. We heard a Christian father calling in to a radio show pleading for help and lamenting his lack of answers for questions that his children would ask him, such as- “Where did God from?” The program host tried to encourage the caller. He spoke about how inherently difficult some questions are. Read more…

Why do you homeschool?

Why do you homeschool? I gave some thought to this question years ago when my children were very small. Because I wanted to be prepared to give a reason to those who asked me. (1Pet.3:15) I wanted to be gracious and humble, without seeming condescending to those who were in public school. I understand there are some Christians whose parents send them to public school. Marketing and John the Baptist

Marketing and John the Baptist Our church evangelizes on college campuses and other venues through the medium of open air preaching. We carry banners with scriptures and Bible messages. We pass out gospel tracts. We engage in many separate one-on-one conversations while one person at a time loudly proclaims the Gospel. This attracts attention and helps draw people to listen. Invariably, sincere and well intentioned (or not) professing Christians will approach us and say that Read more…

How I got started in Open Air Preaching

The first time I preached publicly all by myself was in Oregon in about the summer of 1989. I traveled there with my roommate Mitch Stroda. He had family in the area, and was an aspiring itinerant preacher looking for speaking engagements in a few churches he knew of. I was just along for the ride, but recently been exposed to open air evangelism (street preaching) by my pastor. I first watched him preach Read more…
